Abstract:
This data set was acquired with a SeaBeam Instruments model 2112 multibeam sonar system during Nathaniel B. Palmer expedition NBP0202 conducted in 2002 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Peter Wiebe). These data files include Acoustic Backscatter, Swath Bathymetry data and were processed at sea using the open source MB-System multibeam sonar processing software. These data are included in the GMRT Synthesis, beginning with version 1. Data were acquired as part of the project(s): SO GLOBEC: Krill distribution, physiology, and predations; Copepod prey abundance; SO GLOBEC: Hydrographic modeling, both biological and physical; SO GLOBEC: Water-column phytoplankton primary productivity; SO GLOBEC: Mesoscale Circulation, Tides, and Mixing; SO GLOBEC: Zooplankton distribution, abundance in the water column and sea-ice/water column boundary; SO GLOBEC: Seabird distribution and abundance; SO GLOBEC: Mysticete Whale Acoustic Census in the GLOBEC West Antarctic Project Area; SO GLOBEC: Water-column nutrient analysis, and funding was provided by the U.S. National Science Foundation.
